COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by traditional monastic brewing, we set out to create a hefty and intricate Quadrupel to celebrate the craftsmanship and art of Belgian brewing. Brewed with a select strain of Belgian yeast and traditional Belgian candy syrup, the beer matured over six months to mellow and soften its character. With layered noted of flambeed bananas foster, black currants and hints of clove, this fine ale will further develop over time.

Imperial pint can, 2015 vintage. Sweet candi syrup aroma with notes of banana, clove, currant and Belgian yeast. Pours dark caramel colored with a thin tan head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with sweet candi sugar, toffee malt and a little bit of current flavors. Finishes very smooth with note of flambeed banana, clove and spicy Belgian yeast as well as a bit of booze. Really wonderful quad.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Deep ruby reddish and clear appearance with a light tan head. Aroma of candy sugar, caramel malt, light toffee, Belgian yeast, light vinous notes and hints of dark fruits. The flavor is similar to the aroma, adding a light spiciness with a full body and a light boozy finish. It’s an enjoyable offering overall, but fairly average within the style for me.

Can (19.2oz). A reddish brown color with a tan head. A light burning nose with noticeable alcohol and bourbon like hints with bubblegum, . A wonderfully rich aroma with banana, spices, and cloves. This beer is HUGE.

RATING #5800. Clear deep amber with a persistent light beige foamy top. Boozy nose with some bourbonny brown sugar and raisin and date and some slight Apple fleshy tones. Big palate with a nice quad flavor of Apple, date, raisin, bourbon nuance, slight dark rum, and a dark Belgian maltiness. Somewhat straightforward but also pretty complex. Would probably age majestically. Really nice.
