On draft at Global Brew EDW on their 5th anniversary. Deep black with a creamy lighter beige head. Is this on nitro? It is like a milk stout on nitro? Some roast and lacto. Light fruit. Everything is subdued but quite nice. A pleasant beer.

On tap at Shamrock’s. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of malty chocolate, some caramel, licorice, cocoa, raisins, figs, milky notes, citrus and hops. The taste was of roasted chocolates, cocoa powder, licorice, vanilla, hay and more caramel. Nice.

On tap. Served a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate with a bit of vanilla. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and a bit of coffee. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Moderate body, smooth but a bit light on the creamy feel. Enjoyable beer.

Draft. Dakr pour. Creamier and sweeter stout, expecially for the abv, nice cocoa and lactosey type character.

Draft at the Midtown brewpub. Pours a dark amber-hued brown with a creamy beige cap that leaves a sheet of lace in the glass. Looks good in its nitro format. Notes of cocoa beans, tobacco, nuts, toast, toasted sugar, earth, and a bit of cream. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, toasty mouthfeel. Very good; the best one I had this visit.

Nitro draft to taster. Looks solid; settles into a cloudy brown with creamy light beige head. Smells of dark malt and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a slightly bitter but creamy medium light-bodied mouthfeel. Underwhelming, and I don’t pick up much (if any) lactose.

Tasted on nitro tap at the 2015 UCBC Wolpertinger Festival in a tulip glass. It poured an opaque black colour with mousse-like beige foam thanks to the nitrogen dispense. A fairly true-to-style milk stout, but the appearance and aroma were much better than the flavour. Not a great beer overall. The flavour was thin-bodied, a little harsh and unpolished. Proof that even the best brewers can’t get it perfect every single time.

Pours very dark with a dense tan head. The aroma is very chocolaty with roast, vanilla, and lot of richness and smoothness to about everything involved. It has a medium smooth body with very soft carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth roast, light char, dark chocolate, moderate sweetness, vanilla and some creaminess. The finish is much creamier and rich while still having the roasty malt balancing that aspect. Really well done milk stout.
