Keg at the Midtown location, 12/17/16. Hazy purple, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of raisin and toasted malt. The taste is toasted malts, raisin, mild hoppiness. Medium bodied. trapped (3367) - New York, TURKEY - NOV 2, 2016
Draught. Clear copper with small off-white foamy head, malt aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish malt taste, thin body, medium caramel finish with sweet aftertaste. Very tasty and satisfying. jb (3301) - Rochester, New York, USA - SEP 24, 2016
On tap at Village Tavern - pretty bland and uninspired. Not a lot going on. Dark but no rich malty character or much of a nose. Meh. pivo (2685) - GERMANY - SEP 17, 2016
Sweet toasted malt nose. Lovely deep brown color. Thick sweet taste with a light spicy end. Something unbalanced about it but overall nice brew.

16oz bottle. Pretty classic and true example of the style. Sweet, but medium bodied. Clean and easy, no frills stuff. Well made, quality ingredients. Fresh. Solid. MaBeer1972 (2120) - Reno, Nevada, USA - AUG 3, 2016
Pours out a very gorgeous looking deep brown color. Lovely frothy tan head. Rich and malty. Very smooth. Nicely balanced. Dry bittersweet finish. I am really loving the stuff Urban Chestnut is putting out! nimbleprop (8591) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 25, 2016
Sampled at EatBar DC pours a murky brown with some fluffy, white head. Nose has dried fruits, some malt, yeast, caramel, bread. Flavor is chewy with grains and marzipan, soggy bread, raisin, a touch earthy. Dry finish and very drinkable. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 21, 2016
Draft. Small beige head atop clear red-brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, spicy, some caramel, light molasses, cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, cherry, light molasses. Light-medium body, light stickiness. N3lson1 (1005) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - JUN 8, 2016
Drank from a pint glass, poured from a 500ml bottle. Could have used some late addition hops on this beer. Pours a beautiful deep, dark, clear slightly reddish color, with a bit of white head. Tastes like an everyday dunkle nothing special.
