Pint at the Grove location. Golden with some almost white lacing. Layers of lacing. I tasted bananas to begin and little else. Yeast is Belgian and the malts match. Some grain and sweetness. Nice. theisti (4272) - Kansas, USA - MAY 5, 2016
1/2 liter draft at Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery & Bierhall in St. Louis, Missouri. The pour is a cloudy yellow orange with a white head that falls pretty quick. Nice lace. The aroma is herbal clove yeast, sweet malt, some esters, a bit of bubblegum. The taste is herbal clove up front, the esters of the yeast and followed by grain sweet malt finishing with more herbal. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel, soft carbonation and a sweetish yeasty finish. I thought the yeast expression was more German than Belgian, and I really didn’t get any hops. Interesting, though not what I was expecting for a Belgian Pale Ale. Terminus (3755) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 3, 2016
Bottle from mix 8 pk. Pours bright clear orange hue with a small fizzy white head around the rim of the glass. Nose is lots of grains, spicy hops, earthy yeast, some phenolic spice character. Flavors exhibit all of this actually very nice, leaning more on the heavy spicy hop/yeast qualities. Quite a nice little beer here . I would drink this regularly at their pub if it was offered. Finish has some sweetness alongside the grainy malt notes and spicy hops. Pretty solid beer from these folks. wxman (1872) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2016
Pours a slightly hazy golden with a decent white head. Aroma is grassy and fruity. Taste is sweet pale malt, rock candy, white bread, a bit of yeast and some slight grassiness from the hops. Simple and pretty good. Tastes like a Belgian variation of UCBC’s zwickel. thegreenrooster (4697) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 26, 2016
Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is a sweet simple syrup with some of th e Belgian yeast and a bit of the corny adjuncts. Flavor is more of a dull lager malt with some Belgian yeast esters and not much in the way of a hop presence. This was more of a lager with some Belgian yeast added. Kind of a dull neutral flavor all around.

Tap - average size foamy head, clear dark gold color, yeasty spice aroma and flavor, fair malt backbone, mild earthy hops, good overall

Draft at UCBC’s Grove location, served in a Kolsch glass. Pours a clear gold color with a finger of white head. Notes of bready and crackery malts, hay, yeast, modest spice, earth, cookie, and some dusty funk. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a malty, dry mouthfeel. Good Belgian pale ale. vyvvy (6993) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 17, 2015
Pours golden copper with an off-white head. The aroma has dry abbey-ish yeast, crackers, spice, leaves, dry caramel and a rustic sense to it. It has a medium / light crisp biting body with light sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with dry caramel, toffee, abbey yeast, spice and dried leaves. The finish is spicy and a little hoppy. Nice hoppy Belgian ale. edgallow (4761) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2015
