Stammtisch is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis – more directly translating to ‘table for regulars’. Our Stammtisch was brewed to celebrate this idea of community and socializing. It’s a traditional German pilsner featuring a blend of Hallertau and Strisselspalt hops, and we think it’s the perfect accompaniment to any friendly gathering. Help us make it a ‘regular’ around here!

Pretty decent pilsener like I recognize I’ve said this before. Pours golden with good head. Crisp finish. Tap at Savor.

rubbishystuff (2529) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2017
From BandC. Very on style, has that distinctive yeasty mild sulfur mineral aroma of euro lagers. Perfect for beer garden. Serving: Can

Scipio (1048) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2017
Pours a clear, yellowish golden with a full, frothy white head. The aroma is a little sweet, with floral hops, lemon, bread, and wheat. The taste doesn’t capture much of the sweetness that the nose offered. Instead, its mildly bitter. Its floral and bready, slightly grainy and spicy, with cereal and wheat. Subtle aftertaste of cereal with a hint of pepper. Light in body, with a smooth texture, and average carbonation. I must say that I found this one to be kind of refreshing. Nothing really flashy overall, but it gets the job done.

ryecatcher (1435) - Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 16, 2017
Can. Pour is relatively clear and golden, medium white head with decent retention. Nose is grassy, crackery malt, noble hops. Mouth is medium bodied, malty, mildly sweet, fair hop bitterness that runs long and lingering in the finish. Solid.

wlajwl (6751) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 24, 2017
Aroma is German malts/hops, grains and slightly earthy. The flavor is grainy German malts, light citrus, slightly earthy and a spicy German hop finish.

sawbuck (725) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2017
Fresh bread, cream corn on the nose. Hazy gold color, huge white head. Sweet up front, Fresh bread, creamy head...some butter. Nice peppery bitterness cuts in and balances nicely. Finish on the bitter side, nice pepper coating. Nice carbonation.....did I say this beer is nice. Good stuff.

nimbleprop (8300) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 14, 2017
On tap at CBC, pours a clear gold with some creamy, white head. Classic nose, lemon, grist, yeast, peanut skin. Flavor follows, no metal here, a little honey. Finishes a bit watery, but very nice.

16floz can, fourth out of a recently purchased 4-pack ($7). 03.02.2017, stamped on the bottom presumably canned on date. I’ve also had this beer on draft too. Spot on for the style. It’s golden with a nice head. The nose is what you would expect, earthy-moss, and cracked light grains. A traditional pilsner strong on the palate; grassy, mineral, and medium in body. UCBC generally does the classic styles right in their ’Reverence’ series. Not the most sessionable beer, but good nonetheless.

coachd (807) - Missouri, USA - MAR 10, 2017
This wasn’t my favorite but I’m not really big on this style. It is high-class as far as pilsners go and drinkable.

Bif (2237) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - FEB 11, 2017
On tap. Pours a clear golden color with a good head and lacing. Aroma of fresh grain and malt sweetness. Taste of Light malt sweetness, grain and trace of citrus. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly light body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Good German style pilsner that is enjoyable and goes down easy.
