COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pilsners (also called Pilseners or simply Pils) originated in Pilzen (Plzeň) Bohemia, in what is now the Czech Republic. ’Vaclav’, who was first a duke, and then a posthumous king and later patron saint of the ’Bohemian Lands’ has had poems and songs (Good King Wenceslas) written about him, so we felt it was perfectly natural to dedicate a Czech Pils in his name too. This particular dedication has a wonderful deep golden hue adn full body from the use of Pilsner and Munich malts, and a ’noble’ nose and bright finish achieved via a combination of Saaz, Alsace, and Hallertau hops. OG-12.5 (footed pilsner)

Pint at Elijah P’s. Just a little haze in this golden beer. Exceptionally well hopped for any Pils I have had. All kinds of grapefruit in here. Quite bitter. Florian is doing some style bending! The finish brought some tropical fruit. Good stuff all the way through.

Otherwise known as "What I want from a lager." Bright golden hue, fluffy white head, nose of grain store and spicy hopping, malty but dry taste with a fine bitterness. I want it on tap in my house, and at your house if you have me over.

tap at brewpub-june 2012-pours lightly hazy orange with a fizzy white head. nose is nice pils malt, spicy hops, sulfer and quite a bit of sweet malt notes-more malty than one would expect. flavors have some nice caramel malts, more than most pils for sure! long leafy and spicy hop finish. very good session beer here. I really dig the leafy hop notes on the finish. Almost has a minty note to it. nice!

It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was of grass and some resiny hops. The taste was slightly bready malt with grass and hops. A decent hops finish.

Light copper. Pils maltiness. No head. Medium IBUs. Good average all around beer. Not great, but no real flaws.

Draught at brewery. Very nice and crisp pils with strong taste of apple. Right on the money and this is not my style at all. Enjoyed it.

Draft at the brewpub. Chosen as a "safe bet" for the less nerdy amongst us, this delivered as promised. Bright and clear, crisp with a Bohemian bitterness true to its Czech roots. Snazzy pils. (#4491, 2/24/2012)

On tap at the brewpub- Pours hazy gold and served with way too large of a head in way too small of a glass. The aroma has crackery malt, smooth pils malt and light fruit. Medium / smooth body that is quite crisp on the finish with lively carbonation. The flavor starts with clean pils malt with spicy hops. The finish is grassy with some sulfur. Really nice pils, but serving this kind of beer is such small glassware doesn’t seem right.

Draft at the brewery, served in a footed glass. Pours a hazy, bright, yellow-orange-hued golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some spots of lace. The aroma hints at a similar malt bill to some of the Hop Switch series, with pils and Munich malts really coming through, along with grassy hops and crackers. The flavor is more of the same bready, crackery malts, grassy hops, and a surprising amount of citrus fruit, especially late. Medium-bodied, with medium, crisp carbonation and a bready, crisp mouthfeel. Very nice Czech pils. Really enjoyed this.

(draught at tasting room) Slightly hazy gold amber with generous white head and nice lace. Aroma of grassy/resiny hops. Flavor is moderate slightly bready malt and grassy/resiny hops. Full bodied for a pilsner yet still manages to be fairly crisp. Nice hops finish.
