Revolution Series #1: We are affectionately referring to the first beer in our Revolution series of modern, American craft beer, as our unusual little bird. It’s a little on the flighty side @ 6.5% ABV, and it’s a little on the wacky side because we’ll brew it with finely milled chestnuts (genus castanea …for you nut freaks), Willamette hops, and we’ll ferment it with a Bavarian Weissbier yeast strain. All of these nuances contribute to its ‘nutty’ personality. ABV- 6.5%, IBU’s- 25, OG – 14.5 Plato (UCBC Goblet)

2015 vintage - 5.4% abv

Flasche. 500ml. Leicht trübe, bernsteinfarben, weißlicher feiner Schaum. Hefe-dominanter Duft - Weißbierhefe. Leicht säuerlicher Antrunk, dann kommt die Weißbierhefe. Im Abgang in der Tat nussiger Gehscmack.

bottle bought by Alex .. . pours a dark amber tan .. medium foam head, lacing .. . medium nuttiness and light caramel .. . all around, this beer was very solid. one of the nicer dunkelweizens i’ve had in a long time .. . . when I kiss a girl, sometimes i dont know what to do with my hands, so i slow clap behind her head to make sure she knows I’m enjoying it.

On tap at Urban Chestnut, pours a hazy amber red with an off white head and lacing in the glass, the aroma was of bread mixed together with some roast and banana, almost like banana bread in the oven, the flavor is sweet on the front end with quite a bit of caramel and malt with a finish of banana and yeast, dark though at the same time, meh.

Bottle. A lightly hazy one, dark golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite grainy, with some caramel and a fruity touch. Something nutty too, in a dusty, cellary way. Medium body, nice carbonation. Beef stock, caramel, some raisins and cellar and a decent fruityness in the flavor, lasting for a good while. Not much bitterness going on. A weird one, but with some interesting notes. 141219

500ml bottle. Minimally cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Yeasty and hoppy aroma has a citrusy lime and lemon touch, nuttily background. Taste is moderately sweet malty, slightly nuttily and bready, cautious fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of orange and mandarine, some banana close to the finish; slightly dry and yeasty finish, moderately lively carbonation.

olio (10286) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 14, 2014
50 cl bottle.
Pours clear copper color with a small head. The aroma is very odd; sour fruits, yeast and bread. Flavor is even worse, some rotten granola, hay and malts.
