Pours a rust color with a small but well retained head.
The aroma is mostly squash and a bit of sage. Very mellow on the nose but still inviting.
The flavor is dry but has such a pleasant spice & squash character that is comes off as reasonably rich. It’s just very lightly tart & has a nice earthy quality to it. It’s neither especially dry nor sweet, balanced in an unexpected way for a farmhouse version of a spice/veggie beer.
Draft 12 oz pour at Urban Family. Not.sure if I like squash, but I know I never elect to eat it. I do, however, elect to drink it in a beer obviously. A dark amber pour with a thin, fading fizz head. A ton of spicy malt aroma. Flavor is a creamy vegetable constant, with a sweet malt to balance. Slight herb, slight bran. An odd mint like coolness late. On tap at Urban Family, pours a hazy dark copper orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of squash and various spiced notes. Flavour brings out a mix of rustic farmhouse notes, squash and spices. Bizarre stuff - it’s certainly well-constructed but not sure I’m a big fan of the spice mix. Okay.
