2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale dark yellow pour with massive floaties, small head.
Grainy german malt aroma, almost some vomit notes, mostly sweetly german breadiness, some strange spice maybe with the malt aroma the hops(if any) seem medicinal and subtle
Im detecting a poorly stored bottle maybe,or infection i notice a light crud ring around the neck so maybe this was autolized too or infected.
Really it just seemed stale yeast tasting. There is a pronounce malt light sweetness, fairly good hop taste but bittering is subtle too, with stale yeast off taste.Bottle says ko9h7 09: 02 whatever that means.
The 9.5 is very well hidden though with mild spicy and a heavy malt with balanced sweetness.
Clear dark amber beer with nice big head. Aroma is enjoyable yeast, fruits and spicy. Taste is a little boozy, otherwise good light sweet and bitter. Full body. Overall nice warming strong beer. Bacchus66 (393) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 26, 2017
330ml bottle @ home. Clear copper pour (other than the suspended yeast flakes - oops) with a thin off white head that fades away to nothing. Bug boozy nose with yeast, malt, bourbon notes. Flavors are sweet malt, barrel, burnt sugar, caramel, decent hops presence though less than expected (old bottle). Long warming finish. mkel07 (5995) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 14, 2017
200517. Bottle from Cellarbrations in Fitzroy. Pre- GABS beer – not that I needed it mind you, but glad that I had it. This is one of the best and strongest Belgian beers that I have had in a long time. Vibrant egg yolk colour with a soft beige head. Alcohol fumes come off the glass and assault the nose leaving you desperately wanting to take the first sip. Big and creamy in the mouth with a hit of alcohol that could easily knock you around. Treat this beer with the respect that it deserves.

Frutti bianchi, resinoso, lavanda. Poi discreto velluto, alcolico, ancora frutta bianca, malto, erba, lavanda, delicatissimo mielato. Palato notevole, finale dolce e lievemente acidulo e astringente. Echon (535) - Århus, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2017
Amber. Discreet aroma with mild hops and yeasty spice. Powerful, sweetish taste, with light kandis sugar and phenolic spices. Quite bitter and warming finish. Medium body. Overall, a good pale strong ale. Rather powerful and bitter. The additional hops assert themselves in the finish, so this is not a belgian IPA in my opinion. fkoolen (1220) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 4, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2017 Bottle at home. Cloudy light golden colour, creamy white head. Belgian yeasty, lightly floral and citrus hoppy, grainy dry malts, clean, boozy. High carbonation, medium body. More like a nice saison than an hops/hoppy ale. prawlie (1593) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2017
Bottle from Londis in Goring. Bug spicy and farmyard aroma, and clearly heavily hopped. Peppery, bitter, but countered by good malt body. Very tasty crisp beer, and enjoyable. I’d happily have one of these again. rumore (538) - Rimini, ITALY - APR 27, 2017
From 33cl bottle. Pours slightly pale gold with white foam. Aroma is bready and citrus, probably a little spiced. Body is kinda dense. Taste is bitter, though with a clear underlying sweetness (honey). Finish is relatively long.
