A nice balanced BSA, but I found it a bit thin, especially for 9.5%. Would’ve welcomed a tad more carbonation. Not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2017 Birra dal colore dorato. Schiuma bianca fine e persistente. Al palato corpo medio, buona carbonatazione, con note floreali, speziate e mielose. Nel finale equilibrata tra dolce e amaro. Una buona birra che si lascia bere nonostante la sua gradazione alcolica.

Clear dark amber beer with nice big head. Aroma is enjoyable yeast, fruits and spicy. Taste is a little boozy, otherwise good light sweet and bitter. Full body. Overall nice warming strong beer.

330ml bottle @ home. Clear copper pour (other than the suspended yeast flakes - oops) with a thin off white head that fades away to nothing. Bug boozy nose with yeast, malt, bourbon notes. Flavors are sweet malt, barrel, burnt sugar, caramel, decent hops presence though less than expected (old bottle). Long warming finish.

200517. Bottle from Cellarbrations in Fitzroy. Pre- GABS beer – not that I needed it mind you, but glad that I had it. This is one of the best and strongest Belgian beers that I have had in a long time. Vibrant egg yolk colour with a soft beige head. Alcohol fumes come off the glass and assault the nose leaving you desperately wanting to take the first sip. Big and creamy in the mouth with a hit of alcohol that could easily knock you around. Treat this beer with the respect that it deserves.

Frutti bianchi, resinoso, lavanda. Poi discreto velluto, alcolico, ancora frutta bianca, malto, erba, lavanda, delicatissimo mielato. Palato notevole, finale dolce e lievemente acidulo e astringente.

Amber. Discreet aroma with mild hops and yeasty spice. Powerful, sweetish taste, with light kandis sugar and phenolic spices. Quite bitter and warming finish. Medium body. Overall, a good pale strong ale. Rather powerful and bitter. The additional hops assert themselves in the finish, so this is not a belgian IPA in my opinion.
