Aroma is malty with raisins and brown sugar. Flavour has ripe fruits, lots of malt, caramel and raisins. Not a bock in any way, more like a dubbel. But a good one!

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottle code K17A7. Pours very cloudy dark reddish brown color with a very nice 2-3 finger dense khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass, with a fair amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of raisin, prune, toast, biscuit, caramel, molasses, nuttiness, and earth. Pretty nice aromas with good balance and weak strength. Taste of big caramel, toast, biscuit, raisin, nuttiness, toffee, molasses, prune, herbal, and earth. Lingering notes of raisin, caramel, biscuit, toast, nuttiness, molasses, and herbal on the finish for a good. Fantastic balance of flavors with nice complexity and robustness. No cloying flavors at all after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian strong dark ale! Great robust and balance flavors; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this. zvikar (6149) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - SEP 25, 2012
