Bottle 33 cl from Willems - Grobbendonk (B). Muddy golden blonde, nice white head, persistent and creamy, laces, furious crackling. Aromas of malt, yeast, candy and hop. Taste bittersweet, drunk not too cold. It is mellow, fruity, lemon and zest, candy-honey, spicy yeast. The bitterness of citrus and herbs is present more with every sip. Saisonnière if you want ?

Bottle, Coppers, Ncl. Pours beautifully pale gold, with a thick, fluffy white head. Quite herby in both aroma and flavour, a bit of sharpness and some lemon notes on the back of the tongue. Long, nutty finish.

Bottle at Great Grog. Very pale lemon yellow, bubbly white head fades quickly. Nose is big Belgian esters, some bubblegum, some lemony citrus, some banana also. Dry lemon sherbet palate, more citrus, juicy tropical fruit and a hint of pepper. Short dry finish. Doesn’t have the funkiness that I look for in a saison, but a very nice beer nonetheless.
