Unfiltered in bottle, filtered in keg.
Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, Wheat (20%), Sugar, Yeast.
First brewed in November 2009. Top-fermented blond bottle conditioned beer. Urthel Saisonnière has a wide range of rich aromas and a subtle bitter taste. at 6.0% abv it is a thirst-quenching beer with a "bite". It produces a beautiful foam head due to the 20% of wheat. To fully enjoy Urthel Saisonnière, first pour half the bottle, then give it a twist (3x) to release the yeast and the wheat from the bottom and then pour the rest of the bottle into the glass.

Bottle. Light gold, with a thin white head head. Aromas of light honey with a touch of meringue. The flavours are a little bitter, with some lovely lemon and nectarine notes. Very nice.

Bottle at Great Grog. Very pale lemon yellow, bubbly white head fades quickly. Nose is big Belgian esters, some bubblegum, some lemony citrus, some banana also. Dry lemon sherbet palate, more citrus, juicy tropical fruit and a hint of pepper. Short dry finish. Doesn’t have the funkiness that I look for in a saison, but a very nice beer nonetheless.

Cloudy, yellow, good head. Slight citrus aroma very much of a wheat beer. Good bitter citrus taste like a bit of rind of orange or lemon with the feel of fine bubbles. Finish is mostly clean with a slight lingering bitterness.

33cl bottle. Clear yellow with a big white head. Nose : bread malts with a bit caramel background. Some bubblegum fruits like banana, pear and peach. Sip : oily with small carbonation. Sweet pear fruit start with some floral and honey notes followed by medium bitter hops on the end. The aftertaste is still bitter but still very floral with little hint of raisin. Nice beer. Something I will not hesitate to buy again.

11.2 ounce bottle - $3.99 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a rather cloudy, light yellow body with a finger or so worth of soft-looking, white foam.

Smell: Soft scented barley, delicate wheat with a thin slice of lemon, a small dash of ground spice, and a teensy hint of perceived sweetness.

Taste: Crumpled rock candy atop faintly bready, lightly malted barley and wheat, remaining a bit sweet as the citrus and spice come in. Faintly soiled yeastiness. Lightly grassy hops, lightly bitter, though it is fanned a bit by the crackling carbonation. As it warms and as your acquaint yourself with the beer, the initial sweetness dies out and the lemon turns a bit citric. Closes out nicely dry, quite crisp, and with a subtle, rural spiciness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation.

Overall: I’m a fan of the subtle yet satisfying tastes present, but would prefer a fraction of the upfront sweetness we have here. Actually, scratch that last part, as the beer grew drier as it went along, hitting a nice level of refreshment.
