33cl, retired beer, last tasted two years ago, from Geers Oostakker, complex, yet easy to drink, hazy, rocky head, good brew kepano (279) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 18, 2008
Thick and creamy, beautiful waves of foam seem almost iridescent atop this marmalade orange body. Despite the crowding sediment this is another gorgeous brew from Urthel, highlighted by superb lacing. The nose is attractive and unique as I have come to expect from Hildegard’s craft. The delightful smell of fromage blanc lends a smooth, fresh character accompanied by a slight lactic sourness. Scents of honey and butter add to that rich and sweet sensation, while the subtle notes of coriander, clove and banana lend additional complexity. The mouthfeel is more textural than flavorful, fluffy as whipped cream. Sadly a certain blandness takes over. Strawberry, caramel, plum and toast are apparent but don’t seem decisive enough. The experience is not completely amiss as this brew retains quite a rich body, a buttery yeasty quality that remains very drinkable. Finishing sweet with a hint of coffee, this a decent beer with enough unique accents to make it worth seeking out. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 24, 2008

[thank you, Yespr]
Pours a lightly hazy amber with a frothy off white head - okay lacing. Aroma is very sweet cream-caramel, toffee and light fruitiness. Fine mouthfeel. Falvour is lovely heavy caramel, but with a good dose of hoppiness to give balance to the proceedings.
[Courtesy of yespr - session @ yespr] Hazy golden with huge white head. Sweet fruity aroma with yeasty and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with ripe fruits, yeast and toffee notes. yespr (46790) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2008
33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a dense and collapsing white head. Aroma is toffee dry aroma. Light buttery. Flavour is sweet creamy and malty with a mild buttery note. Smooth and a creamy. Goes into a lingering caramel malt flavour. TrefwoordPunk (1281) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2008
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy very light brown with a big off-white head and a sharp spicey, alcoholic and malty aroma. The flavor is sweet with caramel and ripe fruit most dominant with some spices to be tasted too. Very nice but just like most other belgian strong ales. A nice caramelly, hoppy finish. A good beer, but just too standard kp (10881) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

hazy orange, thin white head, nice horsey aroma that fades into nice spices on a sweet carmel base, rich sweet fruity flavor, nice spicy esters fill out the flavor profile, more subtle complexities than I can describe, an great afternoon session beer, best a bit chilled - the aroma fills out nicely when it warma but the flavor receeds, the Urthel never fails to impress
