Bottle from a friend. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, bit roasty, dried dark fruits with notes of dates and raisins, touch of liquorice. Flavour is sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Not a bad Bock, a bit more roasty than most examples of the style.

Drinking from a 33 cl bottle. In the aroma chocolate and caramel. The clear black beer has a medium brown head. In the taste coffee beans and roast malt. Medium carbonated.

Sterk aanwezige smaak van karamel, zelfs toffee achtig. Zacht zoet, bittere afdronk. Beetje aparte maar geen heel slechte bok.

Bottle. Honeyish, nutty, caramelly beer with notes of biscuits. Fullish, light sweet, with dried fruit in the flavour. Good drinkable stuff.

A very nice dark bock. The colour is a very dark brown with a lacy white head which soon disperses. The taste is sweet, dominated by flavours of dates and stewed fruits, but is balanced by an attractive dryness that makes this beer extremely palatable. Pours very clear. A well-made and characterful beer with good balance and strength.

3.9
Holmen2 (3629) - NORWAY - AUG 17, 2014
From bottle. Dark copper. Small and diminishing off-white head. Aroma of dark caramel, dates and prunes. Similar taste, combined with berries and a hint of hops. Fine aftertaste.
