Amber coloured. Aroma is pretty fruity with some english hops. Taste: Very , very good, loads of flavours, some sweet malt with some alcoholic sweetnes with a very grassy and oily hop bitterness. Sweet vinous finish. imdownthepub (14469) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 19, 2003
Bottled, Pasteurised. Deep ruby red beer with close knit head. Malt and smooth wine flavours predominate, maybe a little apply cider characterisic. Autumn fruits come through. A well constructed beer but possibly no longer available? JonMoore (2067) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2005
Clear ruby colour with a nice creamy off-white head. Sweet malty aroma. Niice lightly malty and fruity taste with a good bitter finish. The alcohol is fairly apparent; full bodied, lightly carbonated. A decent and enjoyable strong ale.

Bottle. Nice dark red colour, nearly burgundy. Aroma is dominated by caramel, having roasted and slightly smoked tones as well. Flavour is likewise dominated by caramel, but with some hazel and plum-like finishes. It has a wonderful way of circulating the caramel arong slight bitterness and fruitiness, never making the caramel too much. Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - FEB 27, 2003
A very wine-like red ale with strong hop profile - I choose this one instead of a glass of wine. Nisse666 (7328) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 5, 2010
Hmm den var rätt god vad jag kommer ihåg

(500 ml bottle). Ruby (rather: reddish brown) colour, very low head. Vinous aroma, full malty flavour, slightly alcoholic, good bitterness. Despite it being called a "table beer" (with robust foods) by the brewers, I would rather call it a typical "sipping beer". Recommended. LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 10, 2004
Nowhere near Fullers Vintage Ales but definately a very nice English Strong Ale! Well balanced and firmly malty ending a long pleasant bitter finish.
