(Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 1999. Reddish brown with a dissipating head. Very refined and complex brew with a vinous touch and some nutty, port-like notes. 231000 fiulijn (21516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 10, 2002
Dark amber color. Malt aroma, with sweet and fruity light notes; then some good hop; herbal, and some yeast. Malt, caramel, light liquorice; unimpressive; rather dry, average body. quite long palate, not enough aromatic. Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 25, 2001
Slightly maltier than the Ruby, with notes of wood, caramel and smoke. The increased maltiness is balanced off by the woody dryness, which makes for a beer which is both bigger and easier to enjoy.

Golden with a nice and creamy head. Aroma is fruity, some blueberries in it? Has a somewhat sour, fruity flavor, and with not much bitterness in the finish. imdownthepub (15528) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2004
Bottled, pasteursed. Golden amber with restained head. Understated fruity sweetish beer with a caramel base. Almost port like in character with a late hoppiness. bierkoning (13814) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2003

Bottled: Cobber colour. Beige head. Malt, liquirice and a touch of alcahol in the nose. Malts, fruit and alcahol in the flavour. This is not my kind of beer. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 4, 2006
Golden coloured and strong in alcohol with some hoppiness. Crisp malt finish.
