This beer pours with a golden body topped by a thin white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and rather well balanced between malt and hops. A slight tomato aroma is detected. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a touch of grassy hops and a touch of tomato like character. Light bodied and smooth yet slightly dry. Spoiled yeast taste to begin, but it evens out a bit. Lacked the old malt taste because it was drowned out by an old and diluted hop taste. . . manolager (20) - Kansas, USA - MAY 15, 2003
Harsh start, pop like carb, no real body, not smooth, little taste to speak of...and I had it on draft in Utica! Stick with Saranac labels. ConiseurofBeer (242) - Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 29, 2003
All the characteristics of shitty beer, with twice the shits................ Obie99 (1) - USA - JAN 8, 2003 does not count
I love this beer. I really, really love this beer. The only bad things that I can say about it is that it has made my head pound once or twice, and that the Matt family never should have changed the old Shultz & Dooley label to the new flashy one. Don't judge Uncle Charlie until you've drank this beer out of a bottle IN UTICA.
