Tasted on 2/7/14 from a bottle at the Friday night tasting at RBWG Asheville, big thanks to Leighton for inducting me into the club. Pours clear pale golden with a thin white head that leaves thin lace. The nose is clean lager with some sweetish malt, and just a touch of citrus hops. The flavor is about the same, a very clean pale lager with the bread malt dominant and just a touch of the lightly bitter citrus hops. The body is very light with nearly fizzy carbonation and a short same finish.
Super light yellow. Very clear and light head with good effervescent effects.
NOSE- very light scent, even for a pils. Limited crispness that the best pils beers have.
FLAVOR- extremely light in flavor. Unfortunately almost tastes like watered down beer. (For real.)
Touted as the first beer sold in the US after prohibition. That’s cool - it’s a pioneer. It was onward and upward from there. freekyp (2193) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - FEB 9, 2016
First the good. Pours a clear light golden with a one finger white head that leaves some scattered lacing. A small bit of grassy hops ride atop the otherwise corny adjunct aroma. Finishes crisply with a bit of hop bite. Has some old man beer vintage coolness factor. Now the bad. Some vegetal off flavors. Lots of corny lameness throughout. Pours a clear bright piss yellow with a white foamy head. Aroma is fresh grain, fresh grist, light honey, metallic twang. Taste is lemon, honey, metallic clang. Dry, papery, body. Straight up suds! obguthr (6301) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JAN 26, 2016
Can: Beany grass nose. Crystal clear yellow, thick head with very little retention. Fusel alcohol, barley malt. Weak. Light body, easy carbonation. Uticabeer11 (1) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 7, 2015 does not count
Clean crisp, some off smells but not enough to distract from a clear pure taste
Hop aroma is there, a small amount of bitter but does not last

On tap at PNP Charleston. Clear pale yellow with small white head. Aroma is corn, light body, low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is corny. Just like I thought it would be. geologyguy (1583) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - SEP 4, 2015
Light refreshing smell, taste is full flavor and significant mouthfeel, good beer! Better than the run of the mill low enders! Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2015
Golden pour from a can. This one is not as bad as most make it sound. It just is what it is. Describe it however you want, it is still a Pale Ale. sloth (2897) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - JUL 24, 2015
My Dad would of never drank this swill, much less my Grandad! Fairly neutral all around. 5.2% ABV though! cant ask for much more! Thanks Stevely! Aniela (4216) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2015
From my backlogg:
RBESG 2014 in London, grand tasting. Pale golden beer with almost no head. Sourish cardboard aroma and similar flavour. Really a bad beer....
