4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
0,5l bottle at home. Pours clear dark reddish brown, tiny head. Aroma is combination of pleasant smoke and light juniper (first bottle I tasted had much more juniper in it) Nice aftertaste and palate. If you like smoked beers, you cannot go wrong with this!
It pours brown with ruby hues in it. The head is tan and has moderate head retention. It has the aroma of smoke. There are moderate bacon elements in the smell with the smoke. There is some light spiciness with is as well. The smoke is the dominant element with some dark fruit in the background. The dark fruits are plums and dates. It also has a moderate amount of malty richness to it featuring molasses and maillard products. It has a moderate body towards the full side with a bitter sweet smoky aftertaste. Overall, this is a complex smoked beer with a good supporting cast of dark fruits and malty richness to it. mansquito (6437) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Proletariat, NYC bottle pour: pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma is smoke, meat, caramel. Taste is smoky, meaty, very full of burnt caramel. Less meaty than Aecht Schlenkerla. Interesting and good. GIJOE (1204) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - JUN 8, 2017
Pours a murky brown with an off-white head that dissipates to a thin film quickly. Nose is smoked bacon, sweet pork and beans. Finish is long and sweet with a grapey hint. Not
Normally a fan of smoked brews, but this is very nice.

Did i enjoy it: no doubt.
Pours hazy dark amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Smoked nose, hard to detect anything else. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Smooth, mellow smoked notes though prominent, well integrated and balanced, some roasty and caramel notes. Pretty good.

Overheard: "Smells like sushi." "Straight up smoked salmon."
Bottle. Aroma has strong, pleasant tar. Brings back memories of the smoke sauna of my youth. Color beautiful dark amber, clear. Overpowering smoke in taste, feels artificial, chemical, medicinal. Palate is fine but could not finish the bottle. My previous try ended with the same result at a beer expo in Helsinki. So good in other repects. And I am famously ombibolous, after all...A disappointment.
