3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. Looks like a dark sahti. Almost no head. Aroma of fresh break, grass, liqurice. Taste extremely good, and the finish continues rather than goes into a ’finish’.
Deep brown pour. The nose is incredible. Softly smoky nose with a lot of grassy malt notes. There's a touch of light yeastiness and a little bit of light pepper. Intense and smoky with a soft berry/fruity flavour. Intensely flavoured, lightly smoky and a little bit juicy. Really damn tasty. ffaoe (1013) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - DEC 23, 2017
Moderate malt and smokey aromas. Dark red in color with huge long lasting head. Taste is lightly of cherry, plum, and raisin. Light smoke notes BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 21, 2017

lightly smokey aroma, quite sweet, full bodied, lively carbonation deep garnet red, beige head. Fruity, smoked ham, bread, dried fruit, boozy. A herbal Jasmine note near the be with a hint of umami in finish. A little on the sweet side for me but makes for a decent winter warmer.
0,5l bottle. Pours murky brown without head. Creamy mouthfeel with smoke and wood with a hint of bacon. Really good!

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2017 0,5 litre Bottle from Alko in Vasa. Dark with medium offwhite head. Smokey aroma. Tastes of smoked baconcrisps. Not Good! TAR (2802) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - AUG 16, 2017
Deep ruby. Quick gray-tan foam establishes a big-bubbled halo. Simple but focused and polished aromas of black licorice, spruce, smoked breadcrust, maple sugar, tar, plum, caramelized raisin. Moderately alcoholic. Loose and slightly pointy carbonation. A malty richness is splashed with fresh plum and rock candy on entry. Sassy juniper emerges and cuts through the tarry sugars and liquefied black-licorice notes. Chewy residual sugars give a caramelized raisin impression. Tickle of alcohol melds with the artfully cloaked juniper, as the malt provides a very soft and refined base of breadcrust and a smoky lushness which is enhanced by the composed juniper. Exemplary balance. A Crystal firmness and a sneaky tinge of charcoal dries things out and enriches the softer malt, though the sugars begin to tire the tongue after a couple swallows. Interplay of molasses and unsweetened chocolate provides a sturdy mouthfeel. Sweet finish is comprised of bread, tar, lengthy peat-tinged smoke and drying shades of juniper. The 9% factor makes this difficult for me to drink much of, and I’m not getting a lot of malt complexity from it. But objectively this is without flaw, albeit maybe a tad prickly in the mouth and fatiguingly sugary. Overall, it’s a pretty fun smoked strong ale from a cool brewery. Bottle at home. Not always the biggest smoked beer fan which hurts my beer geek cred so I keep exploring. Ruby pour. Nose is cured meets and some berry. Tastes of meat, juniper, malt, and bready. As it warms the meat becomes more subdued and berry over takes. First rate with new phone. hman43 (1894) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JUN 19, 2017
It pours brown with ruby hues in it. The head is tan and has moderate head retention. It has the aroma of smoke. There are moderate bacon elements in the smell with the smoke. There is some light spiciness with is as well. The smoke is the dominant element with some dark fruit in the background. The dark fruits are plums and dates. It also has a moderate amount of malty richness to it featuring molasses and maillard products. It has a moderate body towards the full side with a bitter sweet smoky aftertaste. Overall, this is a complex smoked beer with a good supporting cast of dark fruits and malty richness to it. mansquito (7127) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Proletariat, NYC bottle pour: pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma is smoke, meat, caramel. Taste is smoky, meaty, very full of burnt caramel. Less meaty than Aecht Schlenkerla. Interesting and good.
