3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Tap @ Palaveri) Deep brown. Smoky aroma, as it should be. Even tar. Flavor and feel are rather sharp and crisp, smokiness mostly in aroma. Finishes dry, maybe a touch too bitter.
Bottle at pub. Pours black with small beige head. Aroma is smoke and ham. Taste is smoked with ham and oak. humpah (281) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUN 4, 2016
0,5l bottle at a restaurant paired with meaty foods. Aroma has tar, smoke and malts. Taste is pretty light and not too smoky, but the smokiness fits the beer well. Pretty simple but fine and quite drinkable lager beer. spacecube (1732) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2015
500ml bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Dark malt, bacon, smoke and roast in the nose. Body is medium, creamy texture leading to a thinning finish with moderate smoke and bacon. Soft carbonation. RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - APR 18, 2015
Bottle. Dark brown in color with a nice tan head. Smoke, bacon and grainy notes in aroma. Gentle and nice. Smoked bacon and bit of sweet malts in taste. Campfire in aftertaste, feels almost like there’s some dark chocolatey bitterness as well. Nice one, reminds me a bit of Schlenkerla and Bamberg. A bit light perhaps, but thus the drinkability is quite good, feels fuller though later on. On second thought this is quite perfect, getting close to Prykmestar SavuKataja. Which is nice. nihtila (3668) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 16, 2015
27.12.2013. Tuoksussa voimakas savu, joka hieman keinotekoisen imelä. Maku savukatajaa miedompi, mutta samantyylinen. Savuinen. Maistuu keinotekoiselta.

Dark cola colored beer with little white head. The faint aroma has tar and smoked malts. The flavour has tar with smoked and sweet malts. Finish has a mild bite of bitterness and leaves the tar flavor on the after taste. Mouthfeel is thinner than medium with pretty high carbonation. Easily drinkable, not as strongly smoked as the German versions. Also doesn’t have such a strong smoked ham flavor.
From a bottle. The taste is clearly smoky with some hints of sweetness. The last of the smoky taste linger in the mouth for quite a while. Kavu (4888) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 27, 2013
0,5l bottle @ Kolme Kruunua. Pours very dark brown with a low tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and smoked ham. Flavor is roasted malts with some smoke. Quite nice. Ernest (7719) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Bottle at Helsinki Bryggeri.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate, cookie), with notes of smoke (meat, campfire), licorice, and iodine/peat.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation.
Rich smoke character with some Islay Scotch leanings, quite nice mixed with the roasty-chocolate malt. Nicely balanced as well. Quite enjoyed this one.
