Pours a light orangey golden with a generous white head. Clean light malt and spices on the nose. Light bodied in the mouth with delicate ginger and some vanilla notes. Little trace of alcohol, some sweetness. Good.

bartlebier (3556) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - DEC 2, 2016
Overly chilled draught at source as well as temperated bottle, late Nov 2016. - Bref: a manageably spiced, apricot and banana-infused light version of their smooth triple dialed down to Blonde sessionability. Surprising amber-beige pour, little head at the iced temperature of La Casse-Croute’s tap installation. Sweet spices cater to Wallonian coriander broth and apricot schnaps predelictions, dialed down just in time. Like all Val-Dieu beers, it makes up in smooth, easydrinking honeycoated malt profile what it lacks in yeast character.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Amber body. Frothy, white head. Heavy sugar nose. Grass, hay, sugar, fruit, banana flavour. Sweet, maybe a bit too sweet. Medium body and carbonation. Good, but there’s nothing super interesting about it.

Gehbe (297) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - NOV 18, 2016
Bottle. Hazy light amber with a huge frothy white head and beautiful lacing. Aroma of spice, yeast, zest, citrus, candy and nice malty notes in the background, as well as hints of dried fruit. Tastes medium sweet and sour with a nice crispy bitterness on finish. Light to medium body, high carbonation, smooth texture, no excessive alcoholic warmth. Very drinkable, quite dangerous!

Ambar nebuosa, espuma blanca consistente. Adoma escaso, levadura.

Gut!

Douberd (5031) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JAN 25, 2016
(Val-Dieu Bière de Noël) Stubby bottle 330 ml at home, served into a big tulip, ABV 7% Deep orange colour on the body, hazy. Huge and thick white head on top, and sitting there for quite some time. Aroma of grains, light nuts, malts, yeast, apricot. Taste follows, grainy and kind of nutty, refreshing fruity notes following though with apricot and some peach, sugars. Medium thin body, high carbonation. Typical belgian ale with the high drinkability that comes with it. No spices or anything that people associate with Christmas as is the case with many of those belgian Christmas beers.
