Bottle bought from the brewery shop. Pours black with a thin, extremely rapidly fading light tan head. Aroma is dry, dark chocolate and mild coffee and roast. Gentle carbonation and medium body.

Cask at the Bootlegger, 29/12/17. Light black with a reddish glint when held to the light, topped with a lasting head of tan bubbles. Nose is dried fruits, roast malts, brown bread, biscuit, light spice, charr. Taste comprises roast malts, toffee, cocoa sprinkle, light spice, dates, liquorice, raisins. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. OK cask porter.

Cask hand pull at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A dark brown coloured pour with ruby red hues and a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet vanilla walnuts, hazelnut, coco powder. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty brown malts, sweet toffee and dried fruits. Palate is medium sweet moderate cask condition . Decent.

Cask at Milton Keynes Beer Festival; clear dark brown pour with a bubbly off white head, dark fruits, hint of roast on the aroma, taste has dark fruits, smooth chocolate, ok.

Cask at The Railway, Putney. Black, red hue, small foamy off-white head, thick lacing. Aroma is like cigarette ash in water. Body is medium to light, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is toffee and roasted nuts up front, light salt, dark bread crusts. Nice level of bitterness. A very drinkable, subtle porter that gets better the more you drink of it.

Cask at the Magpie, dark red-black with a thin lacing head and aromas of roast coffee and red fruit (strawberry & damson?). Dry and burnt-bitter, with burnt coffee & cocoa notes emerging plus a distant fruitiness. A rather nice dry Porter.

Backlog rating. Cask at JDW CW, London. It pours a clean brown color with small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, tangy berries, wood. Taste is mildly astringent, medium sweet with notes of cocoa, vanilla and nuts. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, not bad
