BlackHaddock (7092) - Shropshire, - APR 10, 2012
Hand pulled pint in a straight sleeve glass, poured at my local Spoons on a Wednesday Real Ale Day during Sep 2011 (all cask beers at 1.89 a pint). Amber, dirty golden coloured body, almost clear, but no quite. On top an off-white head of tight bubbles. The smell was of grains and grass, with a hoppy citrusy bitter-sweet undertone. Fairly sweet initially on the tongue, but the hops kick in fairly swiftly after that and it certainly has a bitter finish. It has a pronounced grainy feel in its taste and texture, almost gritty in fact, very different to most UK Premium Bitters. I prefer malts and sweeter beers normally, this didnt fall anywhere near that category, but I still enjoyed drinking it; in fact I had another pint just to make sure I got the flavours right for this review. Interesting brew, the first Ive had from this brewery, Ill look out for more.

Parmenion777 (257) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2017 A slightly hazy pale yellow gold colour with a small thin white head. Floral and fruity (tropical and citrus) and sweet biscuity malt aroma. Some lacing, a light sweet malty taste with lemon citrus and flowery notes and a very pleasant hop bitterness in the finish. A great ale for a warm day. The more I drink the more I like it.

Cask at The Albion in Kingston. Straw colour, grassy hops, some citrus and a crisply dry bitter finish. Lovely example of the style.

Cask HP at Hamilton Hall as Vale Gravitas, 4.8%. Clear pale golden yellow, still, small thin beige head. Aroma is light and airy, really not much going on. Body is smooth. soft carbonation. Taste is light bready malts, citrus, floral rubbery hops, dry hop character, some elderflower. So drinkable and nuanced. A classic golden ale, done well. Yes it doesnt blow your head off with flavour but its great. I could drink many pints.
