Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber with white head. Good fresh, dry bitter notes, grapefruit pith with a bready malty background. An enjoyable beer and a great start to the evening.

berkshirejohn (6655) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2012
Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a loose white head; the aroma has some zingy grapefruit, but is also rather earthy; in the mouth, it’s sharply bitter from the start - with grapefruit, citrus and tree sap, counterbalanced by some pineapple sweetness; then a long dry finish. This is my best beer of this ’spoons beer festival so far.

Playhouse Spoons, Colchester. Clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent hops - fresh marmalade and bitter peel. A little lemon and a touch of tropical fruits and a pinch of spice. Finishes semi dry with medium bitter linger. Clean and fresh and well hopped. Good stuff!

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2012 Cask conditioned gravity dispense Olde England Northampton. A golden beer with a nice white bubbly head. Restrained but noticeable chinook hops. Grapefruit in the mouth and spicy grassy notes in the nose. Delicate by the normal standards of a chinnok beer but still pretty nice. Score 3.5
