Bottle conditioned. Very frothy off-white head, nice colour. Grainy taste, a little fruity. Very active. Interesting its bottle conditioned, but it works. Dry.

Bottled (backlog). Amber colour, mediumsized foamy white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is wood, caramel, some ripe fruits, mild herbal notes. Flavour is caramel, wood, resin, some herbs and mild grassiness. Nicely bitter finish.

Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park, London in Aug 2009 - Hazy Amber in colour. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Hoppy; earthy hops. Fruity; mildly citrus-orange. Mildly bitter malty throughout. Refreshing. Drinkable. (2009-08)

Grain and cereal malts, caramel, some undefined fruits, light grapefruit. Hazy gold, small, frothy, white head. Light bitter. More malts, grain, bread, light caramel, soft carbonation, light bodied, more fruity hops in the finish. OK Bitter, nothing special though. Cask at the Duke of Sussex, Chiswick.

Copper coloured ale with a tasty malt base, slightly biscuity. Small head and very smooth to drink.

[Brewers own stand at the Thame Food Festival] Slightly murky amber brown with a slight white head. A little caramel, some nuts, some rather grubby citrus and a vague dusty bitterness. Not great, but then Im afraid Im not the biggest fan of this brewery normally.

tombyars (1662) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2012
Sampled this ale in the Saltcot, Saltcoats in July 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet in colour with a thin white head. Prickle of dusty dry hops in the faint aroma. Poor lacing and a very thin mouthfeel. Pale malt complex leads to a dry redcurrant fruit and tea biscuit flavour with a hint of vanilla essence. Dry hop resins present in the bitter aftertaste but sweetness comes through and gives balance to a quick finish. An ok session ale from Vale but really lacking in complexity and strength of flavour though.

Big up to Tjalve!! Pours with a beautiful dark amber color. Aroma is some sweet malty, some red berries and darker syrup. Flavor is little malty and some syrup sweet to it. Palate is medium. Medium carbonated.
