"grapefruity hoppy aroma and flavor with a little bit of malt in there. not overpowering at all...a very nice ipa. well made and one of their better beers. 5/10-second time around...a little bigger. can’t wait to try Uberhoppy." KickInChalice (860) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 6/13/2010. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Thanks for the extra, Azureoval!
Cobra-Hood pours a golden tangerine color with a white pillowy head. Nice retention, and it makes me happy to see such a pretty head last. Great sticky lace.
Citrus and pine hops control the aroma.
Strong citrusy hops start out the sip right away, leading with a grapefruit flavor. Piney notes follow. Malt never really gets started here, just hops all the way. Quite a bitter bite at the end, just to remind me that this is all hops.
Great creamy feel here. I could tell it was going to be creamy and smooth from the moment I saw the pour. Medium carbonation, slightly dry finish. Medium body.
Not as complex as some others, but nice nonetheless. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 26, 2010
Dark golden orange with a fizzy white head. Big grassy and pine aroma and taste with citrus and caramel notes and a good bitterness from start to finish. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 26, 2010
Courtesy of kiefdog. Is this an Aspidites inspired label? Pours clear copper with nice white head. The aroma is full with pine resininess, a touch of cotton candy and faint sugary malts sweetness. The flavor is up front goooood with sweet tropical fruit flavored cotton candy blending seamlessly into pine hop flavor and growing bitterness. To midway and the finish the chewy hop flavor gives more and more ground to straight up pine, tropical fruit and grapefruit like hop bitterness. Yum. Fantastic tasting IPA. kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 18, 2010
Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours a golden to amber color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel, honey, hints of floral esters. Flavor is about the same, some stronger notes of floral hops. Medium body with a pleasing floral hop finish.

A golden amber IPA with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice clasy c-hops with light citrussy and pinhey notes. In mouth, nice floral hops melding well with the malt, grapefruit notes. Medium bodied. A good IPA. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 28, 2009
5th of the beer’s ratings. Tap at Valley. What a pleasant surprise. Nose reminds me of centennial hops, actually. Also smells of very tart citrus pith. Flavor is really something: dank-nasty hops, weed, must, then into plum skin, overripe orange, rotting fruit. Finish is bitter like the smell of a dormitory at a debate camp. Unbelievably enjoyable and a real surprise. Cobra-Hood, eh? I bet I know who they asked to name this... doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 3, 2008
On-tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy dark orange, almost brown with a very thin white head, specks of lace. Smells subdued earthy hoppy. Tastes bitter and hoppy, very damn bitter in fact. Some sweet malt flavor toward the finish and bitter through the finish as well. Bit of dishtowel flavor as well. Medium body, good carbonation. 1/5/08, 11th and Final Brewery of 07/08 Roadtrip with Bikesandbeer and his girlfriend Jesse. Drove out the way to get to this brewery, which was worth it, really nice people and good food and good brew. Pours orange with an off white ring head. Nose is sweet and hoppy. Taste is sweet and hoppy and nice really lingers in the mouth. aspidites (1272) - manteca, California, USA - APR 15, 2007
Big nose of hops, hops and MORE hops. Some nice spice and malt notes also come forward. Big mouthfeel that needs to be scraped off of the tongue. Clean and dry finish.
