Draft. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of vinegar, berries, malt, vinegar, and brettanomyces. The flavor is acidic with notes of malt and berries, leading to a tart finish. popery (2170) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 7, 2010
RBSG09. Strong sour berry flavor that grew a bit cloying after a few sips. Quite tart. It reminded me of a tart rhubarb pie, although I imagine it’s just olallieberries. Hard to find anything but sour berries in the flavor. It works a bit better in the aroma, but I didn’t love it. Mild funk, verging on the unnoticeable underneath all those berries. Perhaps, there was also a touch of oak. Pretty good sour but I need it to be incredible to accept that much fruit flavor. Ratman197 (14686) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2009
Bottle shared by Agent Steve poured a hazy red with a small lingering pink head. Aromas of barnyard, berries, leather, horseb lanket and lemon. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of oak, barnyard, berries and leather with a crisp dry lingering tart finish. mreusch (851) - Olathe, Kansas, USA - OCT 27, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2009 12oz. brewers bottle, with another big thanks to AgentSteve for the chance to try a VB beer! Pours a hazy pinkish red orange with a moderate white-pink head. Aroma is dusty funk mingled with bright and tart fresh berry and fruits, and a hint of oak and floral. Flavor is more bright tart fruits, fresh berries, light acidity, and some oak and sour funk. No funk bomb here, but the fresh berry qualities make this a very nice sour that really grew on me. Thanks again Steve! angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - SEP 27, 2009

Sampled during RBSG 7/11/2009 at the Grand Tasting. This sour pours a medium reddish amber color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity and tart. The hops are floral. The beery flavors are semi sweet and tart. Nice blend between the sour and the fruit. Good balance. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is tart. wetherel (1880) - Cupertino, California, USA - AUG 21, 2009

On tap. Pours a reddish amber with a vaguely pinkish head. Aroma of rhubarb and pumpkin, distinctly tart. Light body, distinctly fruity and tart with a strange saltiness also - like in shellfish?? Very strange and not really my thing. 110709 Nuffield (4167) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 31, 2009
Somebody likes me to put a beer like this in range of my mouth. Lovely color. Candy, herbal notes, sweet and funky, with a tingle of acid. Very drinkable; wish I could sit with this one for a long time but I had this on...Tap at RBSG 2009 Grand Tasting. AgentSteve (1647) - SF Bay Area, California, USA - JUL 28, 2009
Pours a hazy dark pink with a few bubbles on the top. Tart fruity funk berry nose. Same in the flavor with some sweet cereal influence that I liked. Great lasting oak finish.
