Brewed since the beginning of last century, when the near-complete staff of the brewery went to see the circus of Buffalo Bill, leaving the boiling brewing kettle to the care of the youngest employee. This boy let the beer roast and caramelise on the bottom of the kettle, but after trying, everybody actually liked the "spoiled" beer, which became the brewerys staple diet. This Belgian version is a lot weaker than the stout exported to the USA.

Bottle from Pivnizub - thank you a lot! The beer pours out in a dark brown colour with creamy low head and medium to smooth body. Nice aroma of malt and straw. Taste of caramel, malt, ripe hops, dark bread, nuts and honey. Grassy hints. Smooth and easy drinkable with some light and fresh finish. Enjoyed it.

Bottle. Very dark red and brown with an off white foam. Aromas are cola with dark treacle and funky, fruity yeast. Earthy with floral, herbal notes and red wine. Flavours are fruity berries with marzipan and cola. Hints of banana with raisins and lemon. Woody with molasses and a spicy finish. Good.

Nice Belgian beer. Has the typical sweetness, but with a nice caramelised bitter edge.

Almost black body, mahogany/cherry color against light. Nice beige head. Also nice malty aroma, with caramel and herbal dominant notes. Dry. Noticeable roasted malt and cognac aroma in background. Taste is good, starts with swetness but evolving to dry and bitter finish. Cognac, caramel and herbal notes are dominant. Quite high carbonation. [Bottle]

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 08/11/2014. Blackish, very dark mahogany brown, little beige head. Smell is sweet, cocoa and chocolate milk powder, herbs and roots, light roast, chicory coffee, light liquorish, Taste is bitter herbs, liquorish, leaves, sweet chicory coffee, cocoa and chocolate milk, light roots, hazelnuts, touch dark fruits, light caramel, light bark, sweet, Higher carbonation. Really surprised, way nicer and better than I expected. Way better than their stout. Excellent brew. A nice regular stout made be an ordinary Belgian brewery? Well I be damned.

Zaskoczyła mnie tak słaba ocenia tego piwa. Sprbujcie jeszcze raz. Jest palony słd, jest karmel, są śliwki, suszone owoce, dym i popił... Wszystko jest. Chaos, ale jakże przyjemny! Jedyną wadą (!?) tego piwa może być to, że jest absolutnie nieokiełznane.

Unique. Pours very dark brown, big seafoam head. Aroma applejuicey. Palate interesting - chalky almost in a good way. Flavor is pretty light - maybe subtle chocolate. Overall pretty nice.

33cl Bottle as Buffalo Anno 1907 Ale. Dark brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma of raisins, dark malts, dark fruits, some yeast, caramel, grain, some pumpernickel. Flavour is sweet, malty, dark fruits, raisin, touch of smoke, caramel, sweet fruity finish with a hint of alcohol. Light to medium-bodied, overcarbonated. Not a fan of this, its too sweet for me.

Hazy amber pour with very small off white head. Aroma of yeast, caramel, hay, floral and hops. Taste of yeast, caramel, slight fruits, hint of citrus and slightly hoppy finish. Very thin mouthfeel and lower carbonation. A little dissapointing.
