really ugly muddy brown color. Fast fading light brown head. No lacing no anytthing after the head fades away. Nose is of oak, red wine, berries, barn funk, wet blanket and cardboard. Light sourness and acid in the taste that falls away quickly to a sort of muddled caramel and cardboard taste. Very thin once past the beginning. Highly carbonated and rather bland. Very dry finish but any sour character is gone. Applaud them for attempting the style and more for bottling one as well. Started off well but went downhill fast

Pours an unattractive muddy colour with a brown head. Aromas of tropical fruit, berries and a hint of red wine. Taste is only slightly sour with the red wine and oak favours hinting through. Large berry flavour. Highly carbonation disguises some of the favours however. Interesting but it wouldnít be my go-to

Appearance: Bright sunset red-orange, pale beige head. Strong head and lacing. Aroma: Funky, but not overly so, a bit of tropical fruit. Oak and some berry hints, not a massive amount of rustic elements. A bit of a metallic, flinty edge to it. Hints of caramel and toffee near the end of the bottle. Taste: The initial taste is definitely on the mild side, but the sourness does slowly ramp up. A good amount of bitterness, with some astringency showing through. It has a dry wine-like character in it. There is a definite malty sweetness, but it hides in the background. A little bit of rose and berries in the aftertaste. Some herbal aspects throughout, there are elements of peach, apricot, and plum later in the glass. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body, as expected. High carbonation, and slight astringency. Quite drying aftertaste, but all-in-all not too bad. Overall: Even with its healthy dose of ingredients, itís not the most complex sour (nor sour sour), but it is quite refreshing and really is a good ale for Autumn. It is quite well balanced, with no particular element dominating the beer. A short time after I finished the bottle, I have a lingering taste of hawthorn and caramel... weird (but nice).

Bottle from Cool Wine. 2012 Vintage. Pours a cloudy muddy brown, with loads of slightly brown head. Great head retention and a little bit of lacing. Sweet nose, very peppery with loads of flowery rose aroma. It smells a little like old lady perfume, but in a good way. Very sour taste, like lemons and with an aftertaste of rose. A reasonably short finish, which was good. This beer has a really lovely velvety texture to it from the high carbonation, but consequently you canít really taste anything. I enjoyed this one, but I wouldnít have it again. It was certainly an interesting experience, but I didnít find it that palatable.

Bottle, 9C. First glass clear, second a murky amber with an off-white head that fades to a fat coat then lasts. Aroma of berries, vinegar, gin, apples. Thinnish mouthfeel with a hint of slickness and rather too much carbonation. Rather weak malt flavours, some berries and herbal flowers, tart apples and wood in a nice dry finish. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a very murky dark borwn with a huge light tan coloured head. After the head falls away looks very ordinary to sayt the least. Aromas show some sourness, a little bit of light caramel and a light slightly sour slightly sweet fruitiness. Nothing dominates nor does anything stand out. Flavours are lightly sour with some bitterness. Doesnt really work that well together to be honest. Carbonation is very prickly and really takes awa y from the beer. As much as I hoped this would work, a little ordinary unfortunately.

Pours murky brown with a large head. Nose shows berries, funky notes and little else. Flavours include acidic berries and some cardboard notes. Falls flat very quickly. Need more of a malt backbone, seems very weak (almost watery) at the moment. Way too much carbonation.

On tap at the Courthouse. Malty and very tasty. Aromas of caramel, wet leaves, nuts, and a hint of flowers. Taste is sweet, with sour notes, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Reddish amber, with a non-lasting head.

Bottle. Hazy coppery amber pour with a lasting foamy tan head. Aroma is mildly sour and displays the berries fairly well but it is also a little minerally and has a slightly unpleasant antiseptic undertone. The sourness comes through in the flavour mainly on the finish, but generally the flavour is much the same as the aroma, having additional hints of lemon and caramel. Quite light bodied with a dry mouthfeel, high carbonation and a lengthy sour finish. Not a great beer overall; the berries and barrel aging work fairly well with the base flavour of the beer but the antiseptic hints that creep in really detract from the whole.
