Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JAN 18, 2016
Holzig hefiger Antrunk, hopfig, stark karbonisiert. 11/11/12/12/8/12

Random find of the very specific vintage I was missing ! Pours clear blonde, under a rather big white head. Smell is sharp, mildly bitter, very yeasty. Taste is sharp, bitter ( still ) over a nice, malty, and very yeasty back. really mellow, creamy mouthfeel. Very nice and more balanced than other hommelbiers i’ve had before. perhaps due to the age ? In contradiction to my expectations, this is not over the top at all.

Clear orange of color with a white head. An aroma of hops, citrus, grass, dry and cucumber. A flavor of hops, citrus, grass, lemon and weak malt.

Bue en bouteille de 75cl. Blonde claire. Effervescence douce. Houblons, fraîcheur, finale explosive.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Hazy orange color with large head that goes away quickly. Aroma is dominated by Belgian yeast but has also some hop notes. Taste starts quite balanced but gets quickly dominated by hop bitterness. Had it almost 2 years old so the bright hop notes were probably gone. It’s a shame I didn’t have it fresh.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is quite fruity, with some pale malts and a peppery note. Some yeasty hints too. The flavor has a nice bitterness, pale malts in the back, and some yeast, pepper notes and a generic citrusy fruityness. A little sweetish touch too, especially in the finish. Medium to full body with a soft carbonation level. Quite bitter finish. Nice this one, but not fabulous. 141011
