(Van Eecke Hommelbier Nieuwe Oogst Fresh Harvest 2013) 750 ml bottle at home, served into a tulip glass, ABV 7.5%
Clear body, orange coloured, with a tall, soapy, white head, with good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass.
Nice aroma with floral notes, yeast with light pepper character, some honey-like sweet notes, grassy hops, apricot.
Sweet taste, alcohol, malts and sugars, then becomes fruity with apricots and peaches, again some honey, grass, light bitterness on the aftertaste.
Medium body, good carbonation, quite dry palate.
Very good, tasty, glad it’s a 750. DwarfeD (3539) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - OCT 25, 2014

The second edition of this special version of Poperings Hommelbier, with four fresh hop varieties. Sticky, stable, off-white head, hazy peach blond colour. Grassy and explicitly hoppy aroma even more so than the regular, green apple, grapefruit, lemon peel, honey, sulphur, flowers, some vague DMS. Fresh fruity taste, citrus freshness same as the regular, honeyish and somewhat caramelly malts, lightly sweet, finish clearly ’green’ hops, floral and grassy, relatively mild but complex, refreshing, ethereal, long and dry. Out of a 750 ml at Cafe Rose Red in Brugge. Muted malt aroma. Hazy bright orange with full white head. Flavor is not very hoppy - perhaps a little old on this one. It has probably faded from the beer it once was, but a pleasant beer to have. Malt and biscuit flavor. hobsch (505) - Cologne, GERMANY - SEP 19, 2014
Bottle 0.75l. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma yeasty, spicy, hops, slightly fruity. Taste is light to medium bitter, medium sweet, yeasty, fresh hops, some citrus fruit. Aftertaste is quite sweet, slightly bitter and sharp, medium carbonation. Very good. Palme (4857) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 19, 2014
Sampled from a 0.75l bottle @ RBNG 2014. This is a cloudy orange honey looking one with a medium sized somewhat sidesticking white lacing head. Soft nose really. Not über hopped really. More floral and gentle with tones of honey and lots of vanilla buns(!?). That’s a new one but it does smell like vanilla buns. Nice non extreme nose. Tastes alright also. Feels light oily in the mouth and it’s about average on the carbonation this. Some reeds, lots of grassy tones with sweet wood juices and bittery soap. Dries my mouth quite a lot in the finish, almost so much that I’ll call it a bit soapy, but definitely tasty and something I could drink again. 15.02.2014
