Had this on tap back to back with Troubadour Magma, and this was the lesser beer, though very different. Pours a lighter yellow; more yellow, a little hazy, more head on it. Nose is a bit hoppy, with a hint of some banana sweetness. But this feels more hoppy than a tripel. Has the lighter body of a tripel like Tripel Karmeliet; not a syrupy sweet version, and I think the hops overpower the tripel aspect of this beer. It comes across as light, bitter, with only residual sweetness. arnold931 (1264) - Iowa, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Draft. Pours pale gold with a nice head. Nose is some banana and crackers. I get a little sourness in the taste. There are better tripels out there. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - AUG 20, 2013
On tap at Trumpet Blossom in IC. I like this small-time brewery and I think this beer shows promise. Mostly, it’s just lacking body. Some nice flavors, but fairly two-dimensional. DiarmaidBHK (5898) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 2, 2013
Draft at Zombie Burger. Looks like urine in the glass. Doesn’t leave any lacing. A bit of perfume on the nose. I’m getting mostly alcohol on the tounge with a bit of a burn on the finish. Pass! boozedude (2229) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUN 23, 2013

Tap @ Shorts Iowa City. Pours a fairly clear yellow appearance with a white head. Big bubblegum, banana, slightly spicy yeasty aroma. Fairly strong, a bit gummy, strong bubblegum, citrusy, tangy flavor. Ok. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 15, 2013
On tap at Short’s in Iowa City. Pours a clear yellow color with white head. Grainy, zesty lemon, yeasty flavors with some alcohol burn. Flavor is a little light for the high abv. Kinda fun tripel. CanIHave4Beers (4225) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - APR 12, 2013
Pours a very pale color with a good head and nice lacing on the glass. CamBone (2) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 14, 2013 does not count
The aroma is crackery & lightly fruity with some banana. Unfortunately some overwhelming metallic character shows up to the party which throws it off for me a bit. It’s a sweet and lightly floral smelling beer.
The flavor is nicer than the aroma, spicy and peppery, more on the sweet side of the ’Tripel’ world but not distractingly or annoyingly sweet... fruity and lightly dusty with some cracker like character. Most defiantly true to style in every way.
Had this beer several times at different locations through East-Central Iowa. Has a nice citrus nose and clean finish. A solid product. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Draft at Red’s. Poured a clear gold color. The head was thick and white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of hay/cereal grain with whiffs of clove and possibly saaz hops. Light to medium bodied and slightly sweet with a warming alcohol effect. Subdued clove, hay, and white pepper with a pleasant fresh bread flavor at the end.
