Tasting glass @ Van Moll. Amber orange, creamy white. Nose is weird rotting dough, heavy smoke, some wet dog,... Taste is heavy weird spoiled, orange peel, smoke is dirty & really weird. Metallic, burned caramel. Body is dirty smoke & caramel. Wrong kind of smoke for me, not a fan.

Pours a brown orange unclear beer with a fast dissolving head. Smells smoked, little sour, wood. Tastes malts, smoked, wood and herbs. Average carbo, medium body and a thin sticky texture.

Draft at The Hague beer festival. Pours cloudy orange with an off white head. Aroma is heavy herbal, citrus, urinal cakes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter with an acidic bite. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Strange.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2014 Tap at wvhnb. Hazy golden with nice white head. Smoke, funk, sour grapes, sweet grains, spices, lemon. Hmmm like a smoked lambic maybe? Very nice! Heard that it was infected and really did not turn out like planned, but for me it works great.

Benzai (16685) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - FEB 5, 2014
Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy very dark orange color, full sized thick a bit creamy beige head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, lightly smoke, pretty fruity, mostly red currant, lightly peat. Taste malts, red currant, light to moderately peated malts, a bit dry finish. Pretty hard to describe. Lingering lightly peated flavor. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Not my style, but very nicely balanced.
