Tasting at Mr Smith’s Skyflat. Thanks to Paul and Rene. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and has good fine carbonation. The bourbon oak trips bring a mild woody sweetness and tangy bourbon soaked fruits. Light semi dry finish. Good.
77ships (11904) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JAN 19, 2016Thank you for sharing Benzai! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Man, I love that label. Black, mocha head. Nose is chocolate sugar, boozy. Taste is umami, warming licorice, bread, sugar, leaves, surprisingly boozy far more so than you would expect, quite thick, faint molasses. Tried the first better batch. A bit too umami, herbal & boozy for me but not bad.
Zlotta (4498) - Hagen, GERMANY - JAN 18, 2016From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016, courtesy of Benzai, thanks a lot! Dark black with a thin, frothy, slightly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and molasses. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, molasses and some oak, followed by a medium long, roasty, slightly sourish finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Very nice!

Zwart. Flinke bruine kraag. Lekkere geur van imperial stout met hout en vanille. Helaas in de smaak (net als bij de 10k) een zuurtje van een infectie. je proeft er wel een heel mooi bier doorheen. Ook flink wat espresso.
