COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brews up to april 2017 are brewed by Troost. Later samples are brewed on location

goozen (4048) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JUN 5, 2017
Tap at Noord-Hollands bierfestival ’17, Alkmaar: Opaque black colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate. Third incarnation of this beer what I think, its seems that this brand always find an way to make an come back.

caesar (7101) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2017 Rerate: Tap @ Poesiat & Kater, 15 cl sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of roasty malts, dark choc and bit licorice. Smooth roasty bitterness, bit creamy choc, slight mocha sweetness. All very nicely balanced and very flavorful. What a difference tap vs bottle can make here. Bottle @ Jopen Proeflokaal during Roels book presentation, 10 cl sample. Black label mentioning Poesiat & Kater. Dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of roast and dark bread, bit licorice and earthy bitterness. Bit light in flavor, some roast, earthy bitterness. Could use more body or creaminess. Decent beer though. 3.3

tricksta_p (4561) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - MAY 4, 2017
Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. "Brewed in 2016" so brewed at Troost, I suppose. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, some salted liquorice, caramel, Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and medium roasty bitter. Body is medium. Very drinkable Stout with lots of roast, some chocolate and mild liquorice. Proper!

3.6
Borresteijn (6969) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 30, 2017
On tap at the brewpub. Black colour, beige head. Aroma hard-roasted malts, black liquorice, caramel, light fruity, tiny hint of peat, light metallic/brown sugar, leather. Flavour is sweet, caramel, hard-roasted malts, figs, some coffee, bitter roast finish. Medium bodied. Nice, but de Schans version is still by far the best imho.
