A dark clear copper with a thin off white head. Aroma of cereals and big dog biscuits. In mouth, a rather caramel malt with light peated notes, good hopping, a bit of vanilla. Medium bodied. App.: Clear copper with a modest, light tan head.
Aroma: Biscuits, cereal, sweet caramel malts, apples, maybe some light floral hops and a light woody, kinda whiskey-like note.
Palate: Medium-full body and medium carbonation.
Flav.: Biscuits and bread, toffee, light nuttiness, a bit of cardboard, a touch of hops. Dry with a very light bitter finish.
Aye, ‘tis a wee brew.
(Bottle) Thanks to Becky at the Vancouver Island Brewery for the sampler. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer - though it was a tad thin and over carbonated it had a pleasant and refreshing Scottish side amongst the caramel and roasted malt, much like a teaspoon of bourbon. Pours a medium almond-coloured head with a reddish-amber body. Dry finish.

Couleur cuivrée. Mousse de couelur cuivrée légèrement plus pâle, assez abondante mais qui se dissipe rapidement. Arômes de caramel. Pours a copper colour with a slight bubbly off white head. Mellow hop aroma with an almost herbal evergreen (pine) undertone. To their credit it does come of tasting a bit "Scottish". Nice malty start well balanced flavour with hop giving the maltiness some edge. Smooth hoppy flavour through the middle and finishes with a hoppy floral aftertaste. Don’t get the wrong impression though. The hops are noticable but still fairly subtle and not in your face.

On opening a slightly spicey smell,mixed with a sort of "Cream of wheat"/ malt smellI ..love the colour.Like a dark tea in with a med off white head that disipates rapidly.
The taste starts slightly spicy and very malty,and smooth.finishes with a light hoppiness,finish is clean and dry but takes about 3 seconds to kick in after the swallow,again very nice.
Nice body,not mousey like some cream ales or tongue coating like others.

Pours an auburn colour. Weak nose of caramel . Taste has some bitter hop notes and a bit of caramel. Not a very good beer.
