Aroma: coffee, roasted malts and some fruitiness.
Taste: roasted malt, sweet, coffee, and some bitter chocolate.

8% ABV. Dark brown beer with brown head. Aroma is alcohol, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Taste is roasted malt, cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, licorice. Sweet, bitter. Very good brew. Would drink again.

Very nice spicy roast aroma. Black, large tan head, seemed to pour fizzy, but was actually tight and persistent. Fullish palate, carbonation lightens it but is perhaps a bit high for a stout. Rich roasty taste, some fruity esters, some bitterness that is a little harsh. Remains burnt and bitter in the finish. Alcohol is kinda covered, though.

Bottle from Mam and Dad’s Holiday, Utrecht, Netherlands. Inky black with a thick tan head. It has a sweet floral coffee and liquorice flavour followed by warming chocolate, oak, vanilla and roasted coffee on the finish. Very good. Alengrin (6017) - BELGIUM - DEC 29, 2016
Strong coffee stout from Utrecht, bought at a Mitra shop. Very regular, medium thick, creamy, yellowish beige, stable head retaining well on the edges but opening in the middle and eventually disappearing altogether; very dark chestnut brown, visually black in general appearance but not entirely opaque on the edges. Strong and perfumey aroma of sugared and creamed coffee, cappuccino, candied cherry, Belgian chocolates, liquorish candy, butterscotch, rum-soaked raisins, chocolate sauce, hazelnut paste, cola, haemoglobin iron, vague hints of Glühwein, black tea and kahlua. Densely candied sweet onset, lots of candied cherry and yellow raisin with a vague sourish undertone, sharp carbonation - in fact too spritzy for a strong stout, detracting a bit from the flavor and needlessly lightening the body. Umami accents of sweet stewed beef surround a thick, dense and dark malt core, caramelly and very thoroughly (pea- or hazel-)nutty, sweet at first but quickly becoming bitterly toasted, yet avoiding a strong roasted bitterness, instead letting the added coffee speak for itself by adding spicy bitterness and pleasant retronasal aroma, alongside some peppery hops, lingering toasted malt bittersweetness and a dash of warming, rum-like alcohol. This candied cherry- or ’praline’-like sweetness lingers in the end, sticking a bit to the throat but actually rather pleasantly so. Sweet but full-bodied, pleasantly rounded and a bit resinous, with a nicely bitter ending and aromatic coffee, this is an exemplary coffee stout, just a tad overcarbonated to my personal liking. Pours black. Just a lacing of head. A bit of sediment at the bottom. Strong spent coffee grounds aroma. Medium-light body, surprisingly. (More like an English stout.) Maybe a bit too much fizz on the finish. Aftertaste develops into something roasted and ashy.
