Can. Completely clouded cranberry-orange hue with a dense, creamy sand-colored head. Flavor is what it purports to be--sweet potato (mashed and slightly caramelized) with a cinnamony piquancy and a mild, earthy bitterness. Captures the vegetable well, though it’s not a flavor I think I need in a beer more than once a year.

Can. Pours bright orange with a small beige head and decent lacing. Aroma is pumpkin spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit earthy. Flavor is light plus sweet, quite spiced, earthy. Medium body. Decent sipper.

Pours a red-brown with a white head. Smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet potato pie. Taste is sweet, spiced, mildly bitter.

Pours out a slightly hazy orangy color with a moderate soft off white head. Aroma is of sweet potatoes, sweet cinnamon, some vanilla bean, light syrupy notes. Taste is complex, nice light silky nitro body, sweet potato casserole, vanilla bean, some maple, light spice. Really solid. Thanks to Jones.

on tap at the brewpub in Yardley - taste of cinnamon and nice amber color. Heard a lot of people raving about this but I’m not a big fan.

12 oz can served in a pint glass. One finger or so tan head sticks around a while. Little bit of lacing. Aroma is not impressive. A little sweet potatoe and a little yeast. Taste is good. Notes of sweet potatoe and a little carmel and spice. Medium bodied beer with average carbonation. Over all very good. I’m impressed. Nice autumn alternative to the pumkin ales.

12oz can from pineypower, thanks Dean. Poured a nice looking dirty orangey/amber with an average foamy off white head. A/F of dirty potato skins, sweet brown sugar, maple syrup, squash, dry medium toast, plus some cardboard and newspaper aromas. Medium body with soft nitro bubbles. Nice stuff

On nitro tap at brewpub. Stupendously spiced, more nutmeg than I’ve ever tasted in a beer, looks and tastes very dark. Very sweet, attacks the outer edges of the tongue. Nitro deadens the flavor to some extent of course. Almost like a festbier underneath the spicing. Interesting. I will say that I like the simple graphic design of Vault’s cans.

Sample at Kurtkeller 017: Pumpkin-tastic 02 on 10/13/2014. Hazy pale amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, nutmeg and slight fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet spices, earthy sweet potatoes and a touch of tangy fruit. The finish is sweet with a cinnamon and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
