   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 14/20
burnabyt (27) - - MAY 31, 2013
Subtle aroma of roasted malts and tilled earth. Dark auburn body with ample frothy tan head. (Think rootbeer float) Mouthfeel is slightly sharp. Medium-high carbonation shows in a steady stream of bubbles from the base of the glass. Taste is mellow and roasty, with a limited hop presence. Overall, a decent representation of the "old" German ale. I'd take another if offered, but, afraid to say my taste buds are eyeing up the imperial IPA in the fridge. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Judging by some of the earlier ratings, many arent familiar with the altbier style. Brown, lasting beige head.Somewhat grainy malt nose. Light malt palate with a medium strength hop bitterness in finish

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear mahogany brown with full beige head. Strong nutty aroma with roasted malt. Light, creamy texture flavoured with mild nuts and sweetness. Similar to a nut brown ale, but sweeter.

On tap at Sunset Grill. Clear ruby with nice off-white cap. First 1/4 of pint and decent lacing. Aroma of sweet bread, nuts, dark fruit. Taste is pretty much the same, but lacking so much of the bready aroma. Palate is left wet and thin.

reebtogi (6061) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 16, 2013
Sampled during VCBW 2013 at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC pouring a pale amber color with a small white head that leaves a few spots of lacing. Aroma is caramel and light grass and citrus. Taste is a light citrus and grass hop bitterness with a light caramel malty sweetness. Body is a little on the thin side and carbonation is light. Not the best collaboration beer to date.

Very little head and an off-brown body. Weak watery aroma of barley. Flavour is swampy with wheatgrass notes. I really didnt like this one, it was neither here nor there. Theres lots of better things going on for Craft Beer Week over this brew.
