Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Bottle from Balls & Glory, Brussels. Essentially no aroma at all, light colour, very Little taste...generally underwhelming. Inoffensive but boring as hell.

Pours crystal clear pale golden with a frothy white head that vanishes quickly. Aroma is sweet, malty, bready, fruity yeast. Slightly skunked perhaps. Taste is funky, yeasty, little skunked, and with a slight hop finish. Medium carbonation, Watery texture, light body.

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: crystal clear, light straw with low white head. Aroma: grassy, cannabis, smell of elephants in the zoo, slightly tart/brett. Taste: low sweetness and above bitterness. Notes of grains and malts. Not much else. Palate: light bodied, thin/watery texture and medium carbonation. Boring and bland. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle at café Helmers, together with Huub. Nothing special at this beer. The name this beer is given, is realy not what it is. Disappointing.

LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Aardige hoppige lager, ruikt sterker dan hij smaakt, maar dat heb ik wel vaker met Vedett

Bottle Not really impressive for a Belgian. On the other hand, if you are Belgian and full of local heavy beers, and not fan of Jupiler, it can be certainly a way out.

Endelig en pale lager, der kan drikkes. Nydt på en cafe lige ved Atomium i Bruxelles. Dejlig frisk øl.

Some dryness, yellow colour with little head and medium carbonation. Tad of hoppiness.
