Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Bue 6 mois avant DLC chez Ludo avec Jacky. Blonde a epais col de mousse a grosses bulles et bonne tenue. Carbo nulle. Arome de houblons frais tres present. Aqueuse en bouche. Finale amere et un peu trop acide. Houblons fait son boulot.

Clear golden with fluffy white head. Grass and some marijuana up front, soft bitter herbs, light pils malts, a bit chalky, there’s some light flowers and a touch of kumquats, but mostly pils malts and grassy hops. Hint of metal in the finish. Under medium sweet and medium bitter. Under medium bodied with crisp feel. Seems like a decent German pils to me.

Pale, golden yellow colour. Modest white head. Bitterness, malts, bit flowery aroma. Slightly bitter, malty beginning. Slightly flowery, plesently crisp in the middle. Slightly sweet, malty finish. Nice bitter aftertaste which makes it very well drinkable. Light bodied, well balanced lager.

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Händlerlieferung aus Belgien). Strohgelb klar. In der Nase eher nasse Wiese. Im Mund dann leichte Malzigkeit. Fehlt etwa der Hopfen???? Gute Resenz.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2016 330ml can. Pours pale copper to yellow. Small head. Dissipates quickly. Aroma of malt and some pine. Body is a bit watery, thin and very bland. Has a nice refreshing quality but aside from its faint malt and pine residue there’s nothing except a clean citrus nuance. Very softly carbonated. Probably wouldn’t get again any time soon especially when it’s next to Duvel in the shops. As a pale beer it’s good but its style is poor in general so for once I agree with the ratebeer score.

Bottle @ Little Devil. Smell gives little but some citrus fruit. Looks quite cloudy and not great overall. Taste is your average blond beer, same citrus and overall quite smooth. All in all, not very special.

I really like this. Very light and refreshing, and most importantly very drinkable. Granted it is not that malty but it is elementally drinkable. 330ml can bought in Booths supermarket.

Burk på parkfestival i brygge. Gul vätska. Brödig doft. Lätt maltig smak med diskreta humletoner. Ganska smaklös
