Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Licht geel, kraakhelder; voldoende koolzuur, witte schuimkraag. Aroma: Graan, moutig, spicy hops, licht fruit. Verder typisch pale lager. Smaak: Een licht fruitig zoetje, mout, graan, brood/biscuit. Licht bitter en Spicy in de nasmaak. Lekker fris, voldoende koolzuur, lichte body.. . Prima doordrinkbaar lager.

Pours clear pale golden with a foamy, white head. The aroma contains malt, grain, grass and light hops. It tastes light malty sweet and medium grassy bitter which lingers in the finish. Soft carbonation, watery texture, dry finish yet quenching.

Bottle. Pours a pale clear yellow gold, big rocky white head. Ok aroma of lager malt, lemon, spice. Sweet malt, simple yet clean flavour, a little pepper. Drinks refreshingly well, crisp and dry. Goes well with sushi. Didn’t mind this.

Bottle. Very pale straw in colour. Malty grainy base. Lightly fruity. Some grassy hops. Very mild; not harsh in any way. Not metallic like some. Sweetish. Dry slightly hoppy finish. Very easy drinking. OK for a Pale Lager. (2008)

Bottle as gift. Clear yellow-gold with white foam head. Nose of butter, toast, yeast, cut grass, dank pale malt and feint lime juice. More butter in the taste with gentle, smooth lager malt and clean hop flavour. It has a soft, oily feel with a gentle carbonation. Expecting crisp sharpness and found a soft and refreshing malt lager. And I think all the better for it.

Bu chez Ellis Burger à Brussels. Bouteille de 33cl. Verre a Vedett 33cl.
