500 ml bottle. Pours a a clear straw yellow body with a nice two finger fizzy white head that slowly gained density. The nose is grassy hops with crusty bread pils malt and just a slight tinge of sulfur. Crisp flavor with a good bit of grassy hops and light bready maltiness. A bit of a carbonic bite on the finish and some lingering light bitterness. Light bodied and crisp with sturdy biting carbonation. Overall, this was a damn decent German Pilsener. So far 2 for 2 from these guys. At just a buck a bottle, it looks like I’m going to have a very Veldensteiner summer! checkmatei1 (765) - Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2008
Swing Top Bottle: Poured a golden yellow with a white head. The aroma was of malt and grass. The flavor was very good, slightly malty with hints of hops. Overall, a very good Pilsner Ungstrup (37611) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2007
Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of straw and light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty again with notes of straw. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2009 I felt like I needed to re-rate this given that my most recent experience with this beer was not all that good. Similar ceramic swing-top bottle as my initial rating. Pours a pale clear gold with a thin white head. There is a noticeable smell of sulphur in the aroma that is off-putting. It is not a heavy smell, but is most definitely there and gets in the way. The flavor is malt with some grassy hops, but the sulphur vapors continue to waft into the nose despite my efforts to ignore it. Mild bitterness at the finish.maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2007
500 ml ceramic flip-top bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a dense white head that lasted through about half the glass. Pleasant aroma of malt, grass and hops. Flavor was again malt, grass and hops. Light bitterness at the finish. Solid beer. 7-3-7-3-14=3.4
Bottled. A yellow gold coloured lager. The aroma is grassy hops and a little creaminess. The taste is quite smooth and mellow with a bitter lemony hop bite. Crisp and pleasant enough.
