beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2009 I felt like I needed to re-rate this given that my most recent experience with this beer was not all that good. Similar ceramic swing-top bottle as my initial rating. Pours a pale clear gold with a thin white head. There is a noticeable smell of sulphur in the aroma that is off-putting. It is not a heavy smell, but is most definitely there and gets in the way. The flavor is malt with some grassy hops, but the sulphur vapors continue to waft into the nose despite my efforts to ignore it. Mild bitterness at the finish.

500 ml ceramic flip-top bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a dense white head that lasted through about half the glass. Pleasant aroma of malt, grass and hops. Flavor was again malt, grass and hops. Light bitterness at the finish. Solid beer. 7-3-7-3-14=3.4

Lack of aroma keeps the score down for this beer although it is quite nice. Pours a clear light amber with a small head. The only bit of aroma I get is some caramel. The flavor has all of what you would expect of a good German Pilsner. Nice clean finish.

asheft (3125) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 4, 2010
[bottle] Sweet hay aroma with some nice, very fresh base malt and pleasant noble hops. Clear straw appearance with a thin, white cover on top. Sweet base malt that is a touch soapy and sort of weak, but still gentle and with some herbal noble hops. Light body, medium carbonation, gentle bitter ending.

glennmastrange (2940) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - NOV 19, 2009
Bottle. Light aromas of straw, dried grass and a hint of pepper. Head is small, frothy/bubbly white with thin but good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Flavor starts lightly acidic, and is followed by a long, faintly sweet and acidic and a lightly bitter finish. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation. Not very complex like most Classic German Pilseners, but this was an easy drinker.

18/03 0.5 l fliptop bottle. It pours pale yellow body with medium sized head. Lemony hop aroma, some vegetable malty notes. Flavor is fine though, has fine herbal bitterness and weaker honey and biscuit malt. It’s medium bodied with nice bitterish finish. Simple, but not bad at all for my taste.

Sehr angenehmes Pils. Test vom 6.6.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

corby112 (2813) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Large streaks and chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Slightly earthy aroma with spicy hops, grass and straw countered by bready yeast, light fruit and pale malt. Some sticky pine needle followed by some apple, pear and pilsner malt. Medium bodied with a crisp, spicy hop bite that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malts into a dry finish. A decent amount of dry, earthy bitterness that dominates the flavor. Hints of grass and straw countered by some light fruit, bread, biscuit and pilsner malt. There’s a subtle metallic presence that lingers after the finish hurting the drinkability a bit. A bit hopper than expected but pretty standard.

3.2
Slipstream (2719) - USA - JUL 29, 2015
Nice swing top bottle. Good aroma for the style - malty sweet plus a dash of lemon. Pale malt dominates the flavor with hops on the muted side. Better than expected - an above average pils.
