beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2009 I felt like I needed to re-rate this given that my most recent experience with this beer was not all that good. Similar ceramic swing-top bottle as my initial rating. Pours a pale clear gold with a thin white head. There is a noticeable smell of sulphur in the aroma that is off-putting. It is not a heavy smell, but is most definitely there and gets in the way. The flavor is malt with some grassy hops, but the sulphur vapors continue to waft into the nose despite my efforts to ignore it. Mild bitterness at the finish.joergen (28103) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 3, 2007
500 ml ceramic flip-top bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a dense white head that lasted through about half the glass. Pleasant aroma of malt, grass and hops. Flavor was again malt, grass and hops. Light bitterness at the finish. Solid beer. 7-3-7-3-14=3.4

Yellow coloured, small airy white head, slight acidic vegetable nose. Sweet malty, slight hoppy and grassy with notes of corn. Short bitterish finish. Boring.
Bottled (from mein-biershop.de). Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, some grains, sweetish and bready malts along with some mild herbs. Flavour is being quite much the same. Not good and not bad either, just a bit boring. JaBier (7958) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 19, 2011
Sample at the Veldensteiner tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 4/8/11. Pours clear yellow with a huge white marshmallow head. Aroma of pilsner malt, lager yeast and crisp noble hops. Sweet malt flavor with lager yeast and crisp hops before a semi-sweet finish.

Pours a golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of bready yeast. Flavours of bready yeast, caramel, alcohol and some grassy hops at the back. jonas (7568) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - APR 9, 2004
Somewhat spongy malt aroma with some bittering hops.
Greenish golden, low fluffy lacing white head.
Sweet crackermalt topped off with a bit bittering hops, light body - nothing exiting.
Light bitterhop finish. lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 22, 2012
500 ml bottle. BBE 29.08.2012.Shaney (2423) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - AUG 21, 2012
Pours a clear golden colour with lazy bubbles and a white head. Aroma of grass, vegetables and light honey. Flavour of grassy hops, hay, honey, vegetables and some light metallic notes. Light bodied, dry mouthfeel and a strong, grassy, bitter finish. Overall a stuffy Pils with some disturbing vegetable notes.
Was Fredl Fesl da geritten hat? Keine Ahnung.

Swing-top bottle. Sweet, lemon and chalk nose, there’s a really pleasant floral and ländlich aspect to the yeast, a little hard for me to get at, but it reminds me more of Zwickl and Landbier. Pours a sickly brown-golden with a dense, creamy and lacing bright white head. Taste is almost sickly sweet and herbal, again pushing toward vegetal character, chalky and slightly grainy water and malt, some yeast. Dusty, husky, and mealy, with a character somewhere between liquified old library book pages and the rotted-out glue that once bound them. Crisp light-medium body, does refresh but is sure to raise the eyebrows.
