mattphilips (801) - Budapest, HUNGARY - SEP 8, 2011

Brought back from Germany by my daughter. Dirty orange brown and. A soapy almost white head that has good retention. Cloves and banana nose. Flavor begins with a bit of chocolate which is a surprise. The cloves, banana soon settle in with some bubblegum. This is both nice and authentic.

Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, banana, clove, and a hint of banana. It pours a cloudy dull orange with a large creamy white head with great retention that leaves behind some nice lacing. The flavor starts with citrus and faint banana. The finish had light clove and a touch of bubblegum. Medium bodied with somewhat lively carbonation.

bottle. murky dark gold, almost brown, with a large, foamy white head. zesty banana aroma with clove. palate is light with a fine bubbled carbonation. lacks creaminess and full body. i like the flavor with ripe bananas and light spice, but i’m not crazy about the palate.

Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 6, 2011
Test vom 6.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,5,6,5,9,5

JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 19, 2011
Sample at the Veldensteiner tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 4/8/11. Clear yellow pour with a huge off-white head. Nose is banana, clove and bubblegum. Flavor is banana, clove and bubblegum. Not my thing.

Poobah (479) - New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - APR 9, 2011
Great looking pour with an inch-thick meringue head and lemon color. Banana and clove nose with a hint of spiciness. Malty mouthfeel with mild lemon and banana notes and some spice in the finish.

500 ml swing-top bottle. Served in a weizen glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a two inch frothy white head. Head retention is pretty good, but there isn’t much lacing at all. Aroma is cloves, banana and wheat. Nice smelling brew. It tastes like wheat, cloves, and a bit of bubblegum. Not as nice as the aroma, but still decent. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s smooth and is well carbonated (maybe a bit too much). I think it’s a decent brew, but not one of the best hefe’s I’ve tried. With that being said, it’s worth a try.

leaparsons (10862) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2011
Bottle. Golden with a large fluffy foam. Aromas are banana, yeast and fairly sharp citrus. Spicy with low wheat malts. Flavours are sweet wheat with bubblegum and yeast. Tart citrus with some cream. Dry on the finish with lots of carbonation. OK.
