3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer was known as one of the first Croatian microbrewery products, produced in a small brewery in a town of Pazarište, near Gospić in Croatian mountain region, famous for its clear spring water, which is also used in production of this brew. It was considered as one of the best Croatian beers, due to the fact it wasn’t pasteurized and produced in small amounts, being also rare and hard to find until fairly recently. Quality of this beer fell with use of additives for preservation so now it tastes more similar to macro Dunkels. Nevertheless, it is still good. I’ve had it many times since 2005, but I’m only rating it now.
Pours dark brown with orange tint and quickly diminishing beige head. Weak aroma of malts and nuts, you won’t notice it if the beer is to cold. Medium body, but a full malty taste, not many hops here, low carbonation, well balanced. Ends with a dry finish. Highly recommended.
Vrhunsko, teško može bolje, najdraže domaće pivo, neusporedivo bolje od svijetlog velebitskog BaroneBirra (461) - Gorizia, ITALY - MAY 19, 2017

Bottle, 0.5l. Pours thick dark ruby, almost black body with thin layer of beige head on top. Ok lacing. Intense smell. Lots of caramel. Very herbal with notes of honey.
Medium body, softly carbonated. Average texture, slightly thick. Mostly sweet, slightly charred with some bitter notes in the aftertaste. Aroma dominated by caramel malts and herbs. Slightly peppery. Notes of honey, feels a bit sticky. Aftertaste slightly charred, woody, a bit smoked. Mild bitterness in the finish, slight metal presence.
Overall, pretty good value for money. Quite decent. sumo234 (101) - Postojna, SLOVENIA - SEP 12, 2016

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark copper brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of caramel and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with notes of yeast and touches of fruit and hops. Estery aftertaste with lactic hints. Not that bad, just tame. Nicolas022 (23) - CROATIA - JUN 12, 2016
Jako dobro pivo, lijepe boje, mirisa i okusa. Očekiva san više okusa kave ili čokolade, a za uzvrat slatkost karamelnog slada. 6% alkohola se uopće ne osjeti. bbllmm (56) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - JUN 12, 2016
No foam at all pouring black brownish. Light coffee body, easy drinking, actually elegant beer at 6%! Vally (3) - - MAR 25, 2016 does not count
Odlicno tamno pivo, vrhunske izvorne vode, kremasto i pitko. Steta sto nije malo jace, dozivljaj bi bio potpun

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of MarkoNm. Pours almost black with thin soapy light brown head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, honey and grass. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel and roasted malt, follows nutty, sour bready and grassy with moderate bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Certainly worth of another one...
