500 ml can into lager glass, best before 12/7/2017. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very nice German pilsener. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the low ABV, and a spot on style example. A very enjoyable offering.

0.5l can from Lidl. Starts with nice thick head. Aroma is mostly sour, with a bit of bread. And some strange component (like a stable) I cannot decide whether it is some fault (DMS?) or is it part of the concept. Foam tastes bitter, bit like medicine. Otherwise it is not vry persistent, although laces properly remain. Body is pale orange, clean, OK for the type. Taste is bittersweet, kind of harmonic but lacks complexity, bit boring. Maybe some freshness comes forward in the end. Taste is a bit on the sweet side, aftertaste is a bit on the bitter side, unfortunately it is dry medicine-like bitterness. Carbonation is moderate, OK. In overall, this is mostly correct but far from exciting and far from my favourites.

From the 16 oz. can with an expiration date of 07/12/17. Bright yellow, heady pour. The foamy white head lingers for quite some time. The aroma has a slight vegetable mash thing but otherwise it is toasted Euro-barley malts, sweetness, and grassy hops. The taste is mostly sweet and toasty with a clean finish. But there is an off-putting papery or cardboard like thing going on that brings it down some.

NikkTwist (3044) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2017 Draft at Khyber Pass. Clear pale straw pour with slim white foam. Clean pilsner taste but not much more to it. Finish makes me wince a bit. Feels like a generic sweet beer syrup and water. Surprised it is German and not American. Beats a Bud, I suppose.

Bottle. Pale yellow. Decent head. Aroma and taste are malty sweet, bready and grassy. Just a small hint of hops. Medium carbonation. Its ok for partying but it lacks in character. I almost fell asleep writing this.
